Ciphos
What Ciphos is, who built it, and exactly how your words are handled.
Ciphos exists to make deep reflection safe. It is a private, local-first sanctuary where you can journal without surveillance, talk through hard moments with a gentle mentor, and check in on your mood and sleep — all from a device you hold.
It is built as an educational mentor, not medical care. Ciphos does not diagnose, treat, or replace a relationship with a licensed professional. If you are struggling, please also reach out to a clinician or a crisis line — the two are companions, not substitutes.
Your journal, check-in scores, and saved conversations are stored in this browser on this device. There is no server copy of your wellness records. Device storage is not a substitute for device security, and clearing browser data removes it.
(If you subscribe to Ciphos Plus, one billing-only account is created — it is used solely for your subscription. Your personal data still never leaves this device.)
We count anonymous page visits to keep Ciphos improving. Nothing personal leaves your phone — your journal, moods, and entries always stay on your device.
With your permission, Ciphos uses AppLovin's pixel and similar technology to see which ads bring people here. It receives page visits, which plan you look at, checkout starts and completed purchases (plan and price), plus a random device code — never your journal, moods, sleep or check-ins.
Only if you separately opt in at checkout, your billing email is also shared with AppLovin to match purchases to ads. AppLovin hashes it before storage. You can change that choice here anytime; it applies to future purchases from this device.
One exception, always by your choice: when you tap Share with mentor for a reflection on an entry, send a message in the Mentor chat, or ask for personalized resource recommendations, that text travels to an AI service to compose the reply. Ciphos does not store what it sends, and the recommendations themselves are saved only on this device.
The mentor's replies and journal reflections are written by a real AI model — a large language model (GPT) served through Lovable's AI Gateway. It is guided to answer in the spirit of CBT, DBT, Humanistic psychology or Grandma's advice, through the cultural lens you choose.
It can reflect and encourage; it cannot diagnose, prescribe, or know you the way a long-term therapist can. Treat its words as a thinking partner, never as a verdict.

Everything stays free and private. Ciphos Plus ($7.99 a month, or $79.90 a year — two months free) removes the mentor-chat limit. It is an educational feature, not medical care.
See Ciphos PlusCiphos lists crisis lines by region — in the United States, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. 988 serves the United States only. If you are elsewhere, the crisis card offers a region picker with local lines, including Samaritans (UK & Ireland) and Lifeline (Australia).
In any immediate emergency, contact your local emergency services first.
